At this point the news that the retail giant's same-store-sales number are in a decline. That's been reported since mid 2013. But the fact that the trend is continuing amid otherwise (relatively) strong economy growth and the lowest unemployment rate since 2008 can be looked at as an indicator of the end of... something.

Turkey Slicing Its Way Into The E-Invoicing Format

The laws in Turkey regarding electronic invoicing are decidedly different from statutes in other nations. For example, e-invoicing is voluntary for most companies in Turkey, however those operating in the hydrocarbon sector or with products subject to special taxes, such as tobacco, alcohol and light beverages have no choice in the matter. In fact, those entities had to begin delivering invoices electronically as of September 1, 2014.

Utility In Dubai Says Goodbye To Paper Statements

If you happen to be a customer of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa), be prepared to receive one less bill in the mail. That means starting at the end the second quarter of 2015, customers will be sent electronic statements for their electricity and power bills.

The people who staff various supply chain positions are very different from people in other departments like finance, sales, and even IT because they have different talents specific to their jobs. Really? I don't think that's even close to being the case. And your HR folks would probably be horrified by the notion that you're hiring based on those notions.

Mandating electronic invoicing has proven a financial boon to the government of Mexico. That’s because for every peso Mexico’s tax administration SAT has invested in auditing, it recovered 61.1 pesos, or $4.65 US. In the first half of 2014, Mexican authorities collected 78.8bn pesos, up 34.2 percent year-on-year.

Number Of European E-Invoices Skyrocketed In 2013

According to a recently released survey conducted by the European E-invoicing Service Providers Association (EESPA), 840 million electronic invoices were processed and delivered to invoice receivers in 2013. That number signifies an increase of 19 percent from figures from the year 2012, when 706 million e-invoices were processed and delivered.

Moving to the Digital World - Still / Yet

It seems odd to talk about companies moving toward the digital world. It isn't that this is a strange topic, but isn't everyone already there? In fact the answer is a resounding 'no' - or at least 'not yet' as reported in Altimeter Group's report "The 2014 State of Digital Transformation." While much of the underpinning work required to make processes and systems digitally functional, most companies are still missing the boat.
