Innovative Delivery Van for the Last Mile
As last mile delivery becomes a much more important piece of the supply chain puzzle, it's 'driving' changes not only on the process side, but also with equipment.
The Mercedes folks at Daimler are making a big investment in building networked delivery vans that can launch drones. According to Steve Banker on the Logistics Viewpoints site, the drone part of the concept may or may not pan out due to regulatory issues, but the other aspects of this 'delivery system' make a lot of sense.
